Africa’s first business venture was at the age of eight. She and her sister formed the company AH-HA to help her father with marketing his insurance business. Of course most of the negotiations took place at McDonalds and they were paid handsomely in dimes for their efforts.

Eventually, Africa went on to become an adjunct faculty member, teaching for over 12 years in higher education. In 1999 she entered the mortgage industry and had fun as a processor, loan officer, trainer, operations manager, and wholesale account executive. She is a member of numerous industry organizations with highlights of sitting on the Fannie Mae San Antonio Partnership Advisory Council and President of the San Antonio Mortgage Bankers Association.
